The Environment
The Environmental Protection Act 1990 imposes statutory requirements to protect the local environment. Econ Construction fully comply with the Act, and in addition, we enforce our own policies that are implemented in each contract
As an environmentally aware company we recycle materials wherever possible. Bricks, timber, slates, cobbles are cleaned and reused on new developments throughout the UK. Some sites such as hotels, hospitals and churches contain hidden treasures and we have discovered some interesting items, some of which are resold, others are given to museums. Some medical equipment retrieved from jobs that no longer meets EU requirements is donated to third world countries.
Econ has its own mobile plant to conduct crushing and screening onsite. This consists of a complete recycling system, the crusher is innovative technology which processes rubble, concrete, asphalt and stone cost effectively into a excellent final product. Materials are crushed on site and re used for making up levels, piling matt’s and as a sub base.
As a company we strive for continuous improvement of our environmental
practice. To meet this aim we endeavour to uphold awareness and compliancy of all new environmental legislation and regulations.
We aim to safeguard, protect and enhance the environment-to so this we aim to minimise any adverse effects of our operations by implementing procedures to prevent pollution to land, air and water, and reduce waste and consumption of natural resources wherever possible. We set operational targets and provide staff training to help us meet environmental needs.
